ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND ACCREDITATION

Fall Semester:                          early-September to mid-December

Spring Semester:                      mid-January to early-May

Summer Sessions:                     late-May to late-June and early-July to late-July

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Fall:                                        April 30th

Spring:                                    October 30th

NOTE - SUMMER SESSION PROGRAM LOCATION AND COURSE AVAILABILITY

Centro Fiorenza offers the possibility to choose to spend the Summer Session either in the usual headquarters of Florence or (alternatively):

 

  • In the Island of Elba.. Located in Tuscany, only two hours away from Florence, Elba is the third largest island of Italy, following Sicily and Sardinia. Its 224 square km offer an astonishing variety of landscapes: rolling hills covered by a green carpet of vegetation the whole year round.

 

  • In the Tuscan town of Poppi-Bibbiena, in Casentino, the upper valley of the Arno river at appx. one and half drive from Florence, amidst the most genuine Tuscan countryside, next to the National Park of Foreste Casentinesi. During the Summer Sessions students can sign up for classes for a maximum of 6 credits. Please note that the number of courses offered during the Summer Sessions is more limited than during the semester programs. Please contact us directly for further information.

 

ADMISSION

Admission to the Centro Fiorenza program is based on the following criteria:

  • 2.5 Cumulative GPA (through spring 2008)

  • Sophomore standing at the time of application

  • Two letters of recommendations

  • Student Life clearance or program approval

  • All students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester with a maximum course load of 15 credit hours per semester.

  • No previous study of Italian language is required for admission; however, all students must meet the Italian requirement. This requirement can be fulfilled prior to or during your time abroad. 

 

ACCREDITATION
Schools with direct agreements with the Institute issue transcripts for academic work.
